Paddling Wisconsin's State Parks
There are so many ways we love to experience nature, and one of our favorites is by paddling. Kayaking and canoeing, even paddle boarding on occasion. We love seeing the wild by water and Wisconsin's wilderness is no exception. The Land of 15,000 Lakes (and 12,600 rivers and streams) is chock full of paddling opportunities, and our beautiful state parks make for a great place to start.
After paddling many a Wisconsin state park, we're happy to offer up these six recommendations for both river and lake excursions.
Adventure Pairings: The Door Peninsula
Wisco Hikes: Devil's Lake State Park
At Gitchi, we hail from the Midwest and we’re well aware of our reputation in the hiking world as “flatlanders.” In spite of that, we love hiking all over the globe and enjoy the grueling feeling of a nice elevation gain. So in our home state of Wisconsin, we try to marry the beauty of the Midwest with any elevation we can find, and one of the best places to do this is at Devil’s Lake State Park.
Kayaking Apostle Islands National Lakeshore
Gitchi was founded in the hand-shaped state of Wisconsin, near the ring finger’s proximal phalange, a place called Eau Claire. While we love to travel and see the many natural wonders of the world, one of our favorite places is in our own state, a place we call “the most superior of lakes” for reasons both affectionate and literal.
The Gitchi Raison D'être

Why did we opt to hang a (e-commerce) shingle and wade into the scary/exciting world of business ownership? Well, we started Gitchi for three reasons.
